Precision Equipment for Micro Tensile Specimen Fabrication and Testing

Our hardware platform enables high-precision micro tensile specimen fabrication and testing directly within the customer’s laboratory or development environment.

The system combines:

  • precision specimen fabrication
  • integrated polishing
  • optical metrology
  • dedicated gripping systems
  • process automation
  • evaluation software

The technology is based on a scientifically validated methodology published in ASTM International - Journal of Testing and Evaluation.

Fabrication Platform

The core of the system is the combination of grinding and polishing within one continuous, controlled process without specimen repositioning during machining.

This approach minimizes mechanical and thermal influence on the material while ensuring high geometrical precision and reproducibility. The process is based on established metallographic preparation principles adapted to micro tensile specimen dimensions.

The fabrication process is automated and software controlled.

Main System Components

Linear Specimen Holder

High-precision linear guidance and synchronized specimen rotation support symmetrical specimen fabrication.

Grinding Spindle

A high-precision grinding spindle enables stable and reproducible machining conditions.

Liquid Cooling System

Continuous cooling minimizes thermal influence during machining.

Wheel Dressing System

The dressing unit defines the contour of the grinding wheel and therefore the final rotationally symmetric specimen geometry.

Polishing Unit

The polishing module enables final surface preparation without removing the specimen from the setup.

Optical Measurement Unit

Optical metrology enables dimensional verification and process control.

Grippers & Transfer Systems

Specialized systems ensure safe handling and reproducible alignment during transfer and testing.

Evaluation Software

Software supports process control, measurement workflow, documentation and data evaluation.
